Nigerian hip hop star Azubuike Chibuzo ‘Phyno’ Nelson who is currently riding on the fame of his singles Connect, Une, Nnunu and the collaboration with 2baba on Coded Tinz is finishing up his second album titled Playmaker which is billed to drop in 2016.
As part of plans to get other established named on the album, the Man Of The Year rapper has been spotted at various times recently with favourite collaborator and friend Olamide, as well as Timi Dakolo, 2baba and Cynthia Morgan. He has shared these photos on his Instagram.

Also, on Tuesday, April 27, the Penthauze musician shared yet another photo of himself and veteran Nigerian entertainer and broadcaster Onyeka Onwenu on his Instagram account with the caption “Blessings from the legendary Onyeka Onwenu. Sophomore album level in a major way #PLAYMAKER”

In 2014, the rapper dropped his first album No Guts No Glory and he featured bigwigs such as MI Abaga, Ice Prince, P-Square, Olamide, Stormrex, Timaya, Flavour and Runtown among others.
The Enugu native turned 29 in October 9, 2015 and was treated to a special time by close friends and colleagues.

His latest moniker is eze nnunu, an Igbo phrase which means king of birds. As a young lad, Chibuzo dreamt of flying. He initially wanted to become a pilot, his family however wanted him to become a medical practitioner but he ended up studying Public Administration at the Institute of Management And Technology in Enugu.

Following the success of his debut album No Guts No Glory in 2014, Phyno and Olamide collaborated on an album titled 2 Kings, which dropped in April, 2015.

Phyno is currently an Airtel ambassador alongside Tuface Idibia, Patoranking, comedian Akpororo and radio host IK Osakioduwa.
Though not the initiator of Igbo rap in Nigeria, Phyno is the most renowned and successful rapper in that faction of Nigerian music.
